Lightility designed and implemented a national lighting and lighting controls program to standardize SKUs and processes across the United States, while reducing costs, upgrading light levels, and enhancing this family business’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
The Challenge
Bid, select and implement a standardized lighting and controls program that would improve energy efficiency, provide visibility into consumption patterns and dashboard control of the parking lot lighting, support corporate social responsibility efforts and streamline processes across 39 shopping outlet malls in 22 states across the U.S.
The Client
Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. is a private family-owned business with 39 shopping outlet malls in 22 states coast-to-coast and in Canada. Tanger’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles provide their stakeholders with an additional perspective on company performance. Lightility’s transparent process worked in alignment with Tanger’s dual goal of sustainable financial and energy savings.
The Solution
Lightility used a rough order of magnitude scope to create a bid package for diverse spectrum of lighting manufacturers to include Architectural grade, Tier 1 and Tier 2 manufacturers. Lightility used photometrics in all cases to confirm average foot-candles with a narrow minimum-maximum range. Lightility bid, specified, designed, implemented and managed all phases of the project, including pre-negotiated national labor pricing, rebate submittal and collection for the benefit of the client, and warranty facilitation services. Lightility also selected a lighting controls system that provided only the technology that the client required to meet their monitoring requirements, reducing the delivered system cost of the controls program by tens of thousands of dollars.
Tanger now has national lighting specifications and a lighting control system for all US-based Tanger Outlets in support of their Corporate Responsibility Initiative.
