Bethesda Place II is a Class A office property located in the heart of downtown Bethesda, Maryland directly across the street from the Bethesda Metro station. Polinger Company selected Lightility to provide EV Charging Stations as well as upgrade the lighting within the garage to increase light levels, improve visibility and enhance site safety. The LED project will save our client over $25,000 in energy costs, and Lightility was able to provide the upgrade with a payback of only 1.5 years. Electric vehicle charging stations were a new amenity for BPII, providing tenants with a place to charge during the workday. Lightility installed two dual port stations, both of which are handicapped accessible. We were able to combine Pepco workplace rebates with grants from the Maryland Energy Administration to recover half of the project costs for our client!

Bethesda Place Apartments

Polinger Company also wanted to add EV Charging stations to their apartments located within the same mixed-use complex as Bethesda Place II. When EV charging stations are installed in multifamily facilities, they have been shown to attract and retain tenants, differentiate properties from competitors, and turn parking spaces into profit centers. This property did not have adequate power available to accomplish the installation, so Lightility provided a transformer and dedicated electrical panel to service the new EV chargers and provided the infrastructure for future expansion. This project was an incredible success! Lightility was able to recover 81% of the project costs through efficient design and available rebates.
